On Monday, it was New Years Eve. We spent the morning in our jammies, playing games. In the afternoon, I took the kids to the park to feed the ducks. It started to rain as we were walking to the park however, we kept on walking and, thankfully, the rain stopped. We hadn't been out in a few days because of the bad weather so it was great to see the kids running around in the fresh air. In the evening, we invited our neighbours in for a party for the kids before they went to bed at 9pm.
On Tuesday, we had Cupcake Neighbour and her partner down for lunch. I made lots of nibbles so we could have a buffet lunch. The kids were thrilled! I had to work in the evening so the kids went to the God Father's house for dinner, which was cooked by Cupcake Neighbour.
On Wednesday, my MIL came to pick up the kids before lunch to take them to her farm for the day. Husband and I decided to go for a lunch date with some of the Christmas vouchers we got. I love getting meal vouchers as you then have a treat to look forward too. I had Thai spiced chicken with rice and Husband had a smoked haddock gratin. For pudding, Husband had a Belgian waffle with ice cream and I had a lemon meringue pie with ice cream and pouring cream. It was delicious!
On Thursday, it was back to the grind for Husband and a long lie for the kids and I. We didn't get up until 10am! The kids had an hour of TV before lunch and then we went for a scooter ride. When we came home, we played Frustration and then we did some puzzles together.
On Friday, we were up early to go to the supermarket. Going to the supermarket with your kids is never a fun task however, we managed to get around the shop without any fighting and the kids were rewarded by being allowed to spend some of their Christmas money on a toy. We came home and spent the afternoon playing Wee Z's new LEGO game he bought with his pennies.
On Saturday, Husband took the kids swimming after breakfast. I got peace to get myself showered and dressed and then I painted my nails. In the afternoon, we played with Sylvanian Families in Miss C's room whilst Wee Z played with his dinosaur race track in his room. When the kids went to bed, Husband and I started watching season 6 of Desperate Housewives.
