13 Things for 2013

Last year I set myself twelve things to do in 2012. Some of them were actually carried over from 2011 as we didn't get around to doing them. Let's recap on my list and I'll tell you whether I was successful or not.

  1. Decorate our bedroom - That was carried over from 2011 and sadly didn't happen as our cat broke his leg so the money for decorating paid for his leg to be fixed.
  2. Change the carpet on my stairs and landing - Again carried over from 2011 and again didn't happen because of the cat.
  3. Re-paint the bathroom - As above!
  4. Re-paint the toilet - As above!
  5. Re-decorate the kitchen- This did happen. We managed to paper the kitchen and put new skirting and coving up. It looks really good.
  6. Experiment more in the kitchen with my numerous cookbooks I now own - I have even more cookbooks to experiment with now!
  7. Practise more big cakes and improve my cupcakes - I did this at the beginning of the year but I lost my baking mojo when my piping tools broke.
  8. Read more books - I read quite a lot of books in 2012, including the 50 shades of Grey trilogy!
  9. Move Miss C in to a "bigger girl" bed - Miss C moved in to her big girl bed at the beginning of the year and now sleeps all night with no nappies either!
  10. Have a huge clear out - I seem to be doing this constantly but we did get rid of quite a lot of stuff last year. We accumulated a lot more last week!
  11. Take my camera out with me more often - I've been taking more photos however it has mainly been on my phone as I forget to take my camera.
  12. Take more photos of me with the kids - I definitely tried to do this more and I have many more pictures of me and the kids in my 2012 album than I do in my 2011 album.
What I have learnt from these lists is that I am rubbish at doing what I set out to do. Nevertheless, I do love a list and hopefully this year, I can complete my list.

My 13 things for 2013 are:

  1. Have another huge clear out.
  2. Try one new recipe a month.
  3. Take even more photos.
  4. Use my video camera more often.
  5. Lose the Christmas pounds I've put on.
  6. Save some pennies for a holiday for next year.
  7. Read a new book once a month.
  8. Decorate our bedroom - third time lucky!
  9. Watch films I've never seen before that Husband keeps raving about.
  10. Paint my nails more often - I need the practise for doing Miss C's nails.
  11. Get back into baking.
  12. Buy a piping bag so I can do number 11 more often.
  13. Work on completing my tasks I set myself!
Wish me luck!
