Baker Days Letterbox Cakes - Review

Of all the ways I could possibly think to get my hands on a piece of cake, never once did I think of having one through my letterbox.

That is exactly what Baker Days do though. They send cakes in a tin, in the post and they are small enough to fit through your letterbox. You don't even have to sign for it!

I received my cake from Baker Days last week. It was so pretty in its little round tin. They had printed my blog header on to the cake which I thought looked really good.

A letterbox cake provides about 4 portions of cake. You can choose from a few flavours such as chocolate, lemon or madeira. I chose a madeira cake as it's my favourite kind! You can personalise the cake however you'd like too but they also have quite a few to choose from on their website.

The cake tasted nice. Miss C said it was "the best cake ever!" Because it has to be made small to be able to fit through the letterbox, it doesn't have a filling of buttercream or jam which is my favourite part of a cake, but the sponge was quite moist.

The cake seemed to travel well as there wasn't any damage to it and it gave clear instructions for lifting it out the tin without damaging it too. Included with the cake tin are some balloons, candles, a card and a tooter.

I think the letterbox cake is a fantastic gift idea, especially if you know someone who loves cake!

I received a letterbox cake from Baker Days for the purposes of a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
