Husband and Housework Don't Mix

Dear Husband,

I do love you. A lot. However, I feel I have to take this opportunity to share some of my frustrations around your general awareness of housework. By this I mean you have no awareness.

Take your clothes for example. If you look in our bedroom you will see a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. This is where your clothes belong. I understand it may be easier to keep them on the bedroom floor in piles but really, it's just making the place look crowded. I'd also really appreciate it if you could not store your dirty socks in amongst your piles of clean clothes because, well, your feet do whiff a bit (I know this is down to all the hard work you do at work) and it can be really quite nasty when I have to check which socks go in the drawers and which go in the washing pile.

But this is where Daddy told me to put them!

On the matter of clothes, please could you hang your jackets up in the jacket cupboard? I wouldn't mind if it was one jacket hanging on the back of a chair but when you have a chair with a jacket for every season on it then you're just taking the mick.

Then we have your plates and cups which are left on the counter, above the dishwasher. I know you believe in dishwasher fairies, who come after dinner and magically fill the dishwasher for you but I have to tell you, there is no such thing as a dishwasher fairy. If there is then just call me Tinkerbell.

I need to stop dressing up to do the cleaning!

My final grievance is with the toilet. I do sleep-pee a lot (I go to the toilet whilst half asleep, I'm not peeing the bed, just to be clear) so I'd really appreciate it if you could leave the toilet seat down. My biggest problem with the toilet though is this: I know what you had for dinner last night, I don't need to see it after it has come back out.

Despite these flaws, I do love you lots.

I'm submitting this post for the Morphy Richards Innovators over on Tots100.
